In 1981, Jeff and Phyllis Cunningham were a young couple with 2 small children, facing a tough economy unlike any they had ever lived through.  Jeff had worked at the local airport since he was 12 years old, and painting was what he knew how to do.  Unfortunately, the economy had hit the aircraft painting  business hard as well, and work was sparse.  In a tiny wood-frame garage behind their very modest home, Jeff started doing small auto body repairs and refinishing on  trucks, old lawnmowers, old tractors….whatever it took to put food on the table.  Even though he was working on a small scale, the word got out quickly about the quality of his work, as well as his integrity.  In 1983, Jeff’s dad saw that his son had a talent, and helped him to purchase property  2 miles out of town where they built a larger  shop.   Jeff hired a “tried and true” experienced body man who taught Jeff the finer skills of the trade. In 1987, they purchased a BeeLiner Frame machine,  a state of the art piece of repair equipment, and a first for Polk County.  The addition of this equipment opened the door for more extensive repairs, and today is considered standard equipment for all auto collision repair shops. In the early 90’s, Jeff attended extensive  training in Dallas to perfect his automotive painting skills, and graduated as a certified automotive refinishing technician. Jeff began purchasing total loss vehicles from an auction in Dallas, continuing to fine tune his automotive collision repair and refinishing skills through repairing these cars and subsequently selling them at a fair price to local customers.  Business continued to grow, and in 1991 Jeff and Phyllis purchased the property in town where Jeff’s Collision Center currently stands.  Over the years, Jeff and Phyllis have continued to grow their business with a reputation of quality auto collision repairs, as well as honesty and integrity.  Jeff and Phyllis appreciate the many customers who have supported them over the past 35 years.
